    The Cumberland Road
    The Cumberland Road also known as the National Road. The Cumberland Road was built by the federal goverment. It was also the first major highway built in the United States. The Cumberland Road starts in Cumberland, Maryland and reaches Wheeling, Virgina (which is now known as West Vingina). Whe the road had first come about it was the time of the Transportation Revolution. The time the road had been devolped during the early 19th century.

    Era of Good Feelings
    The Era of Good Feelings occured during Monore's first term in office. The era was described as the national mood of the united states. The reason for the era to occur during Monroe's first term was because, of the political cooperation stemming from one-party politics, and because of America’s high morale after the War of 1812. The years following War or 1812 was know as the Era of good feelings.

    The Erie Canal occurred between the years 1817 AND 1825. The Erie Canal was depended on by lots of people, which was estimated to about 50,000 people. The state of New York took on the challanege of carving 363 miles of wood. All they had to rely on muscule power or men and horses.The iconic waterway established settlement patterns for most of the United States.

    As the American Nation moved forward it had ran into issues. Sectionalism was one of them. This issue threatened to break down the strong foundation that we called America. The west, north, and south had sectioned themselfs off from each other. They did that instead of looking at each other as one. They had threatened to destoy America.

    The Election of 1824 was interesting. This was the first time nobdy had ran as Federalist. Five canidates ran as Democrate-Republicans. John Quincy Adams had lost the election to Andrew Jackson. So Adams had followed Jackson as secretary of state. He thought secretay of state because previous presidents had been secretary of state before they had taken a spot in office.

    The election of Andrew Jackson had a timespan of 10-31-28 through 12-2-28. This election was one of the dirtiest elections in history. Jackson had remakrable things about him. One remarkable things about him was that he had an unperdectied level of politcal orginazation. Jackson was a tough guy. Jackson had a nick name that resembled that, his nick name was "old hickory".

    American businesses were goin out because of British companies. Before Andrew Jackson took office, Congress placed a high tariff on imports. The Northeners supported the tariff, and tbhe Southeners didn't like it because it would hurt their ecoomy. President John Quincy Adams signed the tariff legislation, yet he didn't suppot it. Adams signed the tariff bill becasue it meant that he would be defeated in his re-election bid.

    Ameria's first gold rush took place in Georiga. Many people know this event as the Georgia Gold Rush. The gold rush took place in the year of 1829. American Indians claim to have known about the gold in the Appalachian Mountains. They apperently knew long before the Spanish Conquistadors set foot on land. For nearly 100 years miners had searched. Farmer Frank Logan had discovered gold in Dukes Creek. Which then set of America's first gold rush.

    Choctaws, Creek, & Chickasaw Removal
    The Indian Territory is land where they sent Native Americans. The Choctaws were the first to get sent there. Mississippi abolished the Choctawas gov't and forced them to sign a treaty. The Creek refused to leave so the troops captured them. The Chickasaw negotiated a treaty for supplies, yet some still died.

    President Jackson and other political leaders wanted to open a land that stretched from Georgia to Mississippi, fo American farmers. The problem was that Native Americans lived there. In 1830, Congress passed the Indian Removal Act. This act authorized the removal of Native Americans that lived east of Mississippi River to lands in the West

    Cherokee Nation v Georgia
    The case of Cherokee and Georgia was filled by the Cherokee Nation. The Cherokee wanted a federal injuntion agianist the laws that the state of Gorgia had passed. The laws that Georgia had passed where harsh. The laws had taken basic right away from the Cherokee Nation. The Supreme Court had ruled that the Cherokee Nation didn't have original jurisdiction legally. It was also ruled that that the Cherokee Nation was a dependent nation.

    Native Americans tried to fight U.S. troops. Their leaders let them to struggle. By 1832 the Sauk was running out of supplies and food. By 1850 they were forced to leave.

    Worchester V. Georgia
    Cherokee thought that they could prevent conflicts by adopting the culture of white people. But the adoption didn't protect the Cherokee. When the discovered gold in Georgia, their treaty rights were violated. Georgia wanted to remove them, but they refused. The Cherokee sued the state. In 1832 the Supreme Court agreed. The court stated that the Cherokee was an independent and Georgia couldn't force them to do anything.

    President Jackson Vetoes 2nd National Bank of America
    On this day Jackson decided not to use the United States 2nd national bank. Jackson had used his power to take away all frederal funds from the bank. People refured to this event as the "Bank War". The bank was biased toward the urban industral northern states. Jackson also objected to the bank's unusual political and economic power and to the lack of congressional oversight over its business dealings.

    John C. Calhoun, Vice President, supported the basic requirements, but in 1828, when Congress passed the Tariff of Abominations, Calhoun protested with the Southeners. Calhoun drafted the South Carolina Expostion and Protest , which stated that Congress should not favor one state and not the other. He used this to advance the states' right doctorine. The conflict between the supporters and the opponents of nullification deepend. This dispute became known as the Nullification Crisis.

    The war began because Seminole leaders were suppoed to sign a treaty, and refused to. Osceola got captured and died. His followers still fought. 4000 Seminole were killed. Some were removed and then the U.S. troops decided to stop the war.

    In the Electoin of Martin Van Buren 1836, Buren was a Democrat. He had 170 electrol votes and 762,678 popular votes. The Whig Party didn't know who to elect so they elected 4 men to go against Buren.     The Whig Party didn't know who they would elect so the elected 4 men to run against Buren. Jackson and Buren won and when Buren took office, the country started to experience the Panic of 1837. The Panic of 1837 was a severe economic depression. Buren was the one to blame.

    President Jackson violated his presidental oath by not enforcing the courts decision. In 1838 U.S. troops began to remove the Cherokee. The Cherokee's 800-mile forced march was known as the Trail of Tears. They suffered from hunger, harsh winter and diseases. One forth of 18,000 Cherokee died.

    Sequoya writes the Cherokee language
    This had a timespan of a year; 1838-1839. Sequoya studied the Cherokee language's syntax and structure for twelve years. Then Sequoya he came out with a written version of the Cherokee language. The language he had created was called Syntax.
