    2. The British gained control over the 13 colonies to the Missippi river.
    3. The French agreed to no longer support any colonies in North America.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    1.The Proclamation of 1763 defined the crest of the Appalachian Mountains as the border of the colonies.
    2. The land west of the crest was designated for the Indians.
    3. It made it illegal to build homesteads on Indian land.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    1. The proper name of the Sugar Act is The American Revenue Act of 1764.
    2. The Sugar Act increased the number of items that would be taxed when they were imported to the colonies.
    3. The Sugar Act also increased enforcement of smuggling laws.

    1. The Stamp Act differed from the Sugar Act in that it was intended to collect an internal tax and not a trade tax.
    2. People had to pay a fee on almost every piece of paper used for legal documents, licenses.
