The fighting didn't start until 1756.

In 1763 Britain and France signed the Treaty of Paris giving Great Britain, Canada, all French lands east of the Mississippi River (execpt New Orleans), and Florida from Spain.

Where: The Declaration of Independence was written at the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Why: Britain was violating our rights and freedoms. Impact: The colonists divided into Loyalists and Patriots and many citizens such as women and slaves, were upset about being left out altogether.
