    This was probably the most important day in US history. The Second Continental Congress met in Philadelphia, PA (then the captial of the US) to amend the Articles of Confederation. However, they ended up devising a new written government system altogether, calling it the US Constitution.

    On the 28th of May, 1830, every Native American's life changed forever.
    Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States, signed the Indian Removal Act, the spark that lit the fire that was bias against every Native American. Any Indian east of the Mississippi River had to move west. The Trail of Tears played an important part in this--it was the path that military troops forced the Iroquois to what is now northeast Oklahoma, at gunpoint.

    This was the beginning of what we now know as the California Gold Rush of 1849. It drew many westward and caused the construction of the Trans-Continental Railroad.
