    French and Indian war
    The French and Indian war was a long struggle between France and Britain trying to gain territory and power which latsted for 7 years. Because many Native Americans fought with France in the latest confilict they called it the FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    the PROCLAMTION OF 1763 said that there should be a line dow the crest of the appalalchian mountains and sttelers have to stay west of the line.
  • Stamp Act

    the STAMP ACT was created to pay off the large debt left over from the FRENCH AND INDIAN WAR.The STAMP ACT requiered colonists to buy a stamp for every piece of paper they used. Therefore newspapers, playing cars, ect. had to be printed on stamp paper.
  • Boston massacre

    Boston massacre
    one day a brawl broke out between soldiers and colonists in boston. After the fight had stoped there where five citizens killed and ten injured. Patriots called this incident the BOSTON MASSACRE.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    To protest anaginst the tax that lord north put on tea, PATRIOTS dressed up like native americans and threw 342 containers of tea overboard in to the boston harbor. Colonist later called this protest the BOSTON TEA PARTY.

    Lord north was furious with what hapened with the Boston Tea Party, so he created the INTOLERABLE ACT. the INTOLERABLE ACT was a series of very harsh laws that colonists thought where intolerable or unacceptable.

    In the FIRST CONTINENTAL CONGRESS 50 leaders from the 12 colonies met in philadelphia for a meeting. In this meeting they wrote a respectful letter to King George. the letter urged the king to consider thier complaints and reconize thier rights.

    The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson, and adopted by the Second Continental Congress. This article stated the reasons why the British colonies of North America sought their independence in July of 1776. It stated all men are created equal.

    In 1783 the Treaty of Paris ended the war. Great Britain was forced to recognize the independence of the 13 colonies. Under the terms of the treaty, Britain recognized the independent nation of the United States of America. Britain agreed to remove all of its troops from the new nation. The treaty also set new borders for the United States

    SHAYS REBELLION was an armed uprising from 1786 to 1787 in western and central Massachusetts. In what was considered the last battle of the Revolution, the rebels sought relief through lower taxes and the issuance of paper currency. The forced the closure of courts in western Massachusetts in an effort to prevent the courts from seizing the property of indebted farmers

    the north west ordincnce is a that that divieds the north west Territorys in to smaller teritorys each with its own govener. once each terriory reaches 5000 free white males it could elect its own legeslater, of law making body.once it reached 60000 it could go to congress and become a state.

    three main parts of government: the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch.
    The articles also talk about the separate powers of the Federal and State government, and how to change
    the Constitution.

    the BILL OF RIGHTS is a list of rights that all people are born with.they added this as a RATIFICATON to the constitution. Twenty-seven amendments have been added to the Constitution since 1789. The first ten amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were adopted as a unit in 1791.
