A slave by the name of Nat Turner led the largest slave rebellion in history. Nat Turner and rebel slaves killed around 50 whites, men, women, and children. Nat hid for a few months, in retaliation the state of Virginia executed 56 slaves and punished more if the state thought that the slaves were a part of or knew about the rebellion. Nat was found and hanged for his rebellion.
