    British soldiers opened fire on American colonists. The British soldiers were being harassed by a mob in Boston. The British soldiers were placed in America to enforce the taxes that Parliament had placed. This made tension between the 13 colonies and Britain.

    The Boston Tea Party was a political protest against British Parliament imposing high taxes. The Boston Tea Party ended with 342 chests of tea being dumped into the ocean on the harbor of Boston.
