  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The British government issued The Proclamation of 1763 to stop the American colonies to settle west of the Appalachian mountains
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French & Indian War was fought in North American. This was an extension of a war going on in Europe (Seven Years’ War) between major world powers.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The British government issued the Sugar act as a way to tax the American colonists on sugar and molasses
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Newspapers, legal documents, and paper required a British stamp, the colonists would be angered about the extra taxes they no had to pay. They would act like this because they didn’t England to tell them what to and not sell.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    5 colonists were killed. These colonists were throwing rocks and sticks at the soldiers. First-person to be killed was Crispus Attucks who before his death was an American sailor.
  • Tea Act

    This act required tea to only be purchased from the British East India Company.

    Boston Tea Part (turning point)
    This was the turning point that cause war because it was caused by the colonists who dumped all the tea that British boats had brought with them.
    This event was a major outcome because, after the tea dumping, the colonists started an attack on those who were still loyal to Britain because they closed the Boston Harbor.

    Britain shut down the Boston Harbor and the courts. The colonists started attacks on loyalists and British soldiers

    The shot that was heard around the world. Famous Paul Revere warned the small town to get ready because the Red coats were marching their way.

    Olive Branch Petition
    The Olive Branch Petition was not enough because they wanted to try and avoid war by compromising. But King George III refused to agree.
