    Thanks to journalists called muckrakers word got out that the way people were handling and packing meat was absolutely unacceptable. It was being sold when there was a good chance that it would be dangerous to eat. This act made eating meat much safer for people.

    The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is what it stands for. Colored people were sick and tired of being treated horribly just because of their skin color. The NAACP helped a great amount with the end of Black discrimination.

    This fire was in a factory in New York. There were women working there and when the fire started they couldn't get out because the doors were locked so they tried the fire escape and it collapsed. Even though the deaths were tragic this caused safety laws for factories.
