    Hitler decides that the only and"final solution of the Jewish question" is to commit mass genocide. The treatment of Jews at this time was horrendous because they were rounded up like cattle and sent, ultimately, to slaughter. 6 million jews were slaughtered in the whole time of the holocaust. There were two stages to the internment process. There were the work camps that produced munitions that were vital to the nazi regime, and there were the death camps. These camps gassed and burned Jews.

    Dauchau opened by Heinrich Himmler who called it "The first concentration camp for political prisoners." This concentration camp was made on the grounds of an abandoned munitions factory and paved the way for more lethal and brutal concentration camps

This was the Law for the protection of German Blood and German Honor. The second law was the Reich Citizenship Law, which stripped Jews of all citizenship rights and split the nation into Aryan's and Jews.

The term Kristallnacht came from the amount of broken glass that lined the streets of Germany. Kristallnacht was blamed on a spontaneous outburst of public sentiment that came from the assassination of Ernst Vom Rath, a German embassy official.

    When the Nazi's invaded Russia, it was not only and invasion that was happening. This invasion broke the agreement between Hitler and Stalin saying that they were "partners" in the war. Russia also housed a Jewish population of 3 million at this time.

    Operation Reinhard was the beginning of the most brutal part of the Holocaust. Operation Reinhard was the reason that the death factories at places like Sobibor, and Treblinka existed. It is said that up to 2million Jews were murdered at the factories that were enforced by Operation Reinhard. The whole Operation was named after Reinhard Heydrich who had a key role in the formation of nazi death camps.

    The burning of bodies begins at Auschwitz in place or burial or gas chambers. Although the gas chambers were still used, burning was a "better" option because it would prevent the fouling of the ground water. Due to the sheer number of Jews being deployed to work and death camps, many camps were forced to open another gas chamber or more furnaces so that they could meet the demans of the number of Jews flooding in.

    Soviet forces reach the first Nazi death camp (Majdanek, near Lublin Poland) and liberate the prisoners. Many of the prisoners were suffering from starvation, poor hygene, and awful living conditions. The Gastapo had fled when they realized that all hope was lost.
