    WATERGATE
    On June, 16 1972, a tape was discovered by a security gaurd with recordings on it from the democratic party. It was later discovered that Nixon supporters had committed the scandal trying to ruin the democratic party. Nixon had found out and ordered the entire affair to be covered up. It was later discovered that huge amount s of money and people were fired to try and keep it from involving the president but that was later found out in court. Nixon eventually resigned before being impeached.
  • SAIGON FALLS

    SAIGON FALLS
    The fall of Saigon, was the capture of South Vietnam's capitol, Saigon. It marked the end of the Vietnam War. The fall of the city was preceded by the evacuation of almost all the American civilian and military personnel in Saigon. There was also a lot of helicpters that were evacuated and put into the ocean. North Vietnamese regained the Capitol and renamed it Ho Chi Minh City.

    The first case of AIDS in the United States appeared and more cases started to appear in the gay community. Magic Johnson a basketball player for the Lakers was then dignosed with the disease and became the face of AIDS and showed people that gays were not the only ones who could get the disease.

    John Lennon was a famoous muscian who belonged to the Beatles. He was shot and killed on December 8 in front of the building where he lived.

    Was a very loved and admired president. Quoted and said, "America is sitting on a shining hilll." Giving people confidence that America can be great again and there is hope. A very happy and optamistic president.

    On this date the Mikahil Gorbachev talked with Raegan and together they made peace with the Soviet and America and after the Soviet Union fell America was the biggest military power.

    The Space Shuttle Challenger was holding seven crew members when it exploded 73 seconds after its launch. One member of the crew was a beloved teacher Christi McAulliffe.

    There were protests in the chinese Tiananmen Square and 1500 people were massacred. The picture is a famous picture of one man who stood in front of tanks and they were going to run over him.

    The Berlin Wall was the Border separating Western from Eastern Germany. It was effectively opened. on this date giving freedom to many German's.

    The Rodney King riots started after the trial of Rodney King. Rodney King was brutally beat up by police men and on trial the police got off with no charges and that sent Los Angeles in an uproar becasue of the gross injustice.

    The Great Mississippi and Missouri Rivers Flood of 1993 occurred in the American Midwest, along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and their tributaries, from April to October 1993. The flood was among the most costly and devastating to ever occur in the United States, with $15 billion in damages.

    The Oklahoma City bombing was a terrorist bomb attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. It claimed 168 lives includong the chil in the picture.

    Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice. He was having an affair with another lady.

    On 9/11 two planes crashed into the world trade center as part of a Terrorist attack by Al Quida. Other planes crashed in the United States but non with the mass destruciton as the Twin Towers.
