    May stand erect with slight suppoort, may climb stairs on hands and knees. Has improved grasping skills. Can build small towers of blocks. May also try and turn door knobs.

    Begins to form concepts, and loves to mimick all actions of other children and adults. Very short memory, slowy increases vocabulary to 4-6 words. May use sounds to indicate certian objects and babbles with expression.

    May be able to walk sideways, jumps on both feet, may show hand preference in all activities. Likes to grab anything and everything. Begins to scribble, works with puzzles that have 1-2 pieces.

    Gradually refines concepts, remebembers where object belong, has a short attention span. Vocabulary increase to 6-10 words, and uses words instead of gestures to express what they want .

    Progresses from simple immitation to imaganitive play, can remember fimilar objects with out seeing them. Is intrested in tiny things such as bugs. Likes to make marks on paper with big crayon. Has a vocabulary of about 20 words. Enjoys labeling objects and parts of the body.

    Walks with more coordination and assurance, bounces and sways in simple dancing movements. Can seat self in small chair with ease. Can throw ball into basket, likes to play with modeling clay, and snips paper with scissors.

    Becomes intrested in the outcome of activities rather than just the activities themselves. Follows simple directions, recognizes when a picture in a picture book is upside down. Has vocabulary of 50 or more words, continues to ask, "whats that".

    Enjoys running but is unable to measure suden stops, may collide with other people or obstacles. Climbs everywhere indoors even in forbidden places, climbs on jungle gym with fair amount of ease. Opens doors by turning knobs, can remove wrapping from candy, and can carefully turn pages of a book.

    Becomes increasingly intrested in childrens tv shows, enjoys playing house and imitating family situations. Likes to imitate drawings of older children, can follow 2 step commands. recognizes fimillar signs in an environment. Vocab increases to 200-500 words, usues 2 word sentences, and refers to self by name.

    Begins to classify objects in to general categories. Tries out various roles in make believe play, can remember and follow out 3 step commands, creates 2-3 word sentences including verbs. Asks names of objects and repeats them, conects names and uses of objects. Uses personal pronouns correctly.

    Likes to be in constant motion, enjoys games involving running, and goes up stairs by alternating feet. Jumps from an elevated object, catches large ball with arms and hands out straight, walks on tiptoes. Turns door knobs with greater strength, likes to paint using full arm motions, takes objects apart and puts them back together.
