    Representatives from seven colonies met with 150 Iroquois Chiefs in Albany, New York to try to secure the support and cooperation of the Iroquois in fighting the French, and to form a colonial alliance based on a design by Benjamin Franklin.

  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    After the the French and Indian War a proclamation was made. It closed off the frontier to colonial expansion. The proclamation claimed that all lands west of the heads of all rivers which flowed into the Atlantic Ocean from the west or northwest were off-limits to the colonists.

    The law was the first passed to raise taxes in Colonies. They wanted everyone to pay more money for the things they bought.

    Parliament passed the Currency Act, effectively assuming control of the colonial currency system. The act prohibited the issue of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency.

    The British Parliament imposed a direct tax on the colonies of British America, and it required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp.

    Parliament ordered local governments of the American colonies to provide the British soldiers with any needed accommodations or housing. It also required colonists to provide food for any British soldiers in the area.

    Tea Party - Schoolhouse Rock - No more KingsA political protest by the guys who fought fo liberty in Boston, on December 16, 1773. They disguised theselves as American Indians, and destroyed an entire shipment of tea sent by the East India Company, to act against the Tea Act of May 10, 1773. They boarded the ships and threw the chests of tea into the Boston Harbor, ruining the tea.

    Joseph Warren sent Revere to warn the Massachusetts Provincial Congress about possible british movement. After the warning Concord residents began moving the military supplies away from the town, and revere did not shout "The British are coming!"
