Proclamation of 1763
The end of the French and Indian War in 1763 was a cause for great celebration in the colonies, for it removed several ominous barriers and opened up a host of new opportunities for the colonists. -

The Colonist were not happy they had to pay taxes. Also they didn’t have any representation in the British Parliament. -

Separated U.S. from Britain, and it was signed by 56 people. -

First attempt at a government, it failed. An approved version was sent to the states for ratification in late 1777. -

This was basically a peace negotiation that began in April of 1782, involving American representatives Benjamin Franklin, John jay, Henry Laurens, and John Adams. -

It contains 26 amendments. It was created to make the U.S more equal. -
John Adams elected president
When George Washington refused a third term in 1797, Adams was elected President (1797-1801). He was the second president of the United States. -

The purpose of the Sedition Act was to distinguish the boundaries between free speech and dangerous speech, which could cause violence or rebellion. -
