  • Currency Act

    Currency Act
    Banned the use of paper money in the American colonies and helped fan the flames of the American Revolution. The colonials had a personal loss in funds and it created many problems at a person level. The British Government most likely was glad to get more money for their troops.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act revised duties on sugar, coffee, tea, wine, and other imports; expanded jurisdiction of vice admiralty courts. The colonists assembled a lot to protest for taxation for revenue. The English government didn't like the protests.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act was repealed in April of 1766. This act was a tax on all printed documents that were issued only on a specific paper purchased from stamp distributors. If you didn't follow this you would be sentenced to death. The colonists rioted in the cities, collectors were forced to resign, and the Stamp act congress in October of 1765. The English really didn't like the riots. They shot into a crowd because a group of boys were telling them to leave.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act told the colonists to house the soldiers and give them things like firewood, and candles. Their response was that they protested in assemblies. The New York Assembly they were punished for a failure to comply in 1776. The colonists ignored the celebration because of the Stamp Act. The government issued this declaration so i would assume they'd be happy about it?
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    This act stated that there should be new duties on glass, lead, paper, paints, tea; customs collections tighten on America. The colonists reaction was that they non-imported British goods, they assembled protests, and their newspapers attack the British policy. The government didn't like that the colonists were fighting back.
