    The U.S. descovers the soviets building missiles in Cuba. the Soviets agree to remove them as long as the U.S. agrees no to invade Cuba.

    After his signing of the Camp David Accords, ending hostilities between Egypt and Israel, Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat was assassinated by angry Muslim extremists during a parade commemorating the Yom Kippur war.
