    ꜱᴜɢᴀʀ ᴀᴄᴛ
    This act aimed to increase British Profit from the American Colonies by raising duties on non-British imported goods. This act was the beginning of colonial opposition, and the colonists protested "taxation without representation."
  • ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴄʏ ᴀᴄᴛ

    This act prevented colonists from issuing their own money, protecting British merchants and creditors from the "disappreciated" colonial money.

    ꜱᴛᴀᴍᴘ ᴀᴄᴛ
    The Stamp Act required a tax in the form of a stamp to be placed upon all newspapers, legal and commercial documents. This was the first direct tax placed on the colonies, and one of the "sparks" of the American Revolution.

    The Quartering Act forced Colonists to provide barracks and provisions to British Soldiers stationed in America, as well as taxing colonists to pay for them.
