    Proclamation of 1763 (1763)

    The Proclamation of 1763 was an act/law that forbade colonists from purchasing from the land west of the Appalachians. To make sure the law was followed, the royal government sat 10,000 troops in the colonies.
  • The Sugar Act (1764)

    The Sugar Act (1764)

    For the British to keep their army AND pay back war debt, the ordered that the colonists pay for any sugar/molasses type item in the colonial trade.

    The Currency Act (1764)

    While gaining some more money, the British realized that it wasn't in their own currency. So they made an act declaring that every tax colonials got had to be payed in British currency.
  • The Stamp Act (1765)

    When the British army was defending for the colonists, the Parliament decided to appeal the Stamp Act, which forced colonists to pay for anything paper related. Colonists tried to fight back against the act though. This act made many people realize how far Britain would go.

    This act had now allowed Parliament to be able to make these Acts without fear of the colonists fighting back due to this acting asserting their rights as the ones governing the colonists.
