  • Proclamation

    was issued by King George III which reserved land on the western side between the Allegheny
    Mountains, Florida, the Mississippi
    River, and Quebec for the Native Americans.
  • Sugar Act

    They wanted to end the smuggling of sugar and molasses it also outlawed foreign rum. It levied taxes on wines, silks, and coffee. The British were told to seize those who did on American waters. Which then caused Merchants to protest the law.
  • Currency Act

    This was enacted to help merchants from being paid in decayed colonial currency.
  • Quartering Act

    This required the colonies to house and feed the royal troops with suitable housing if they were not suitable they were required to give them in inns or private housing and etc.
  • Stamp Act

    Was put into place after the 7 years war to uplift the economy. It taxed almost everything printed on paper from newspapers, pamphlets, licenses, leases, and legal documents. Then trade with the mother country declined in 1765 which then led to the "Sons of Liberty" protesting in a violent matter. Mobs would usually break out and they destoryed the stamps which started the "taxation without repersentation."They set out resoultuions that they would only be taxed by their respective legislatures.
  • Declaratory Act

    This was made right after the repeal of the stamp act which allowed the Parliament "to make laws binding the colonies “in all cases whatsoever.” " It was made so that Parliaments power stayed the same in America.
  • Townshend Acts

    This would allow it so that the taxes imposed on goods imported by the colonies were legal while internal taxes were not legal. This then caused another uproar not as strong as the Stamp Act but it still made an impact which led people to use and make local products homespun clothes, a replacement for tea, and homemade paper.
  • Botson macusture

    this happened after the Townshend acts and it started with a snowball and ended with 3 dead whiling being harassed by the mob. Which then led to parliament in 1770 repealing all Townshend acts except those on tea.
  • Tea act

    This was put into place to creating a monopoly on who owned the tea which drove the colonist into frustration.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The colonists were sick of being taxed without representation so they decided to protest and did so by dumping the tea cargo into the harbor. The Parliament feared of this happening again because it would look like they couldn't control the colonies.
  • Coercive Acts

    Put into place as a punishment on Masschuesses as a type of warning. Which banned town meetings being held without the governor’s consent and consisted of 5 different acts. The colonist then unified with the Continental Congress to find a way to go against the British.
