  • Albert Einstein Theory of Relativty

    Einstein was a German scientist that created what is known as the theory of relativity, this changed peoples view of the world. His theory replaced what people thought were constant and defined by gravity and motion. His theory stated that the speed of light is constant but time and space are not constant, they are changed when measured to an item traveling at the speed of light. While EInstein was a great scientist his theory may have been his biggest contribution.
  • Russian Bolsheviks Rebel

    The Bolsheviks rebellion, also known as the Russian Revolution occurred because the people did not like how the country was being run. This Revolution left Lenin incharge who had his goals for the people but the person after him had something else in mind. Stalin came to power because of the Revolution and would bring things back to how things had been before. The Bolsheviks were the lower class and wanted to betreated fairly like the others which is what led to the revolution.
  • Mussolini takes power in Italy

    Mussolini was the man that took power in Italy and sided with Hitler in WWII because of his desire for power and territory. Before Mussolini was the leader of the facist party in Italy and then was made the leader which alowed him to put his desires in motion.
  • Stalin comes to power

    Stalin took power and at first acted in favor of what the Russians had rebelled for but that would all change. Stalin became power hungry he wanted all the power for himself, he became a dictator and went back to what the people had rebelled against. This one event of him rising to power would bring worse conditions for the people of Russian than before and would bring themk to war in WWII.
  • Stock Market crashes

    The stock market crash of 1929 was the worst stock market crash in history, it became known as Black Tuesday. This event was one of the factors that contributed to America falling into the great depression which would effect the rest of the world aswell. This crash led to many issues arising in the US economy and would forever stay in the minds of the investors. The crash also led to unemployment rising dramatically due to the crash, the crash was a terrible event that will always be remembered
  • Hitler becomes Chancellor

    This event was the start of Hitlers reign and his movement to take power and later to kill the Jews. The people turned to Hitler because he was charismatic and he offered a solution to the problems Germany was facing at the time. This was the first time Hitler had any legal power that could put his desires into motion. After he became chancellor he started trying to bring Germany back to its old glory and started WWII.
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt elected

  • Hitler defies treaty of Versailles

    When Hitler became chancellor he promised he would revert Germany back to what it was. This included defying the treaty of Versailles by building up an army, this could have been stopped however the league of nations did nothing. Had Hitler been stopped at this point WWII might not have occurred. This was the first part in restoring Germany the next would be to take back Poland and more territories.
  • Nonaggression pact signed between Hitler and Stalin

    This nonaggression pact was between Germany and Russia it said if you don`t attack me I won`t attack you. This pact might have helped Hitler win the war had he not later defied it himslef and attacked Russia. Before breaking the pact Hitler only had to worry about the Eastern front but he then ended up having a war on 2 fronts. Hitler and Stalin might not have gotten along but they both wanted power and this led to the pact being created.
  • Hitler attacks (start of WWII)

    When Hitler attacked Poland it was the breaking point for France and Britain, they had worked so hard to avoid war but it was certain. This attack would be the start of the 2nd World War that would devestate Europe and all for one man trying to gain power.This was a defining moment in history that would change the coarse of history and plunge the whole world into another devestating war.
  • Nazis attack the Soviet Union

    Hitler had signed a nonaggression pact with Russia which he broke with this event, he attacked Russia which made them side with the allies. This event may have been the start of the downfall of the Nazis because after they had to fight a 2 front war. This event also benefitted the Allies because they gained a new ally who would help them fight the Nazis.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Before Pearl Harbor America had decided it was best to stay out of the affairs of other countries due to what had occurred in WW1, but that all changed. The Japanese launched a surprise attack on America, which enraged everyone and made them call out for America to join the war. Due to this event America joined in the fight on the allies side which was a grave mistake on Japans side because it could have been avoided.
  • Battle of Midway

    The Battle of Midway was the turning point in the war on the pacific side of WWII, after this attack the Us began pushing farther and farther toward Japan. The battle was at first a trap set by the Japanese to strike another big blow on America so they could win in the pacific. However American codebreakers were able to intercept the message and figure out about the trap and instead turn it to their favor. The US instead set a trap for the Japanese and were rewarded with a victory against them.
  • D-Day

    This event is what some people might call the most important attack in the history of WWII. It is the biggest organized attack in the history of the US army, it was a massive invasion on France which helped defeat the Germans on the West side of Europe. This was the start of the end for the Nazis because after this attack the allies began to travel deeper and deeper toward Berlin.
  • A-Bombs Dropped on Japan

    The only known record of Nuclear weapons being used in combat was in WWII they were dropped on Japan to get them to surrender. These bombs are what officially ended the war, while the Nazis had surrendered before Japan had not yet surrendered and instead of sending more men America dropped the atomic bombs. The bombs may have ended many lives but they also saved many more who would have died trying to take Japan.
