The Sons of Liberty were an extremist organisation formed to rebel (mainly through violence and intimidation) against the British Government. In the beginning, their motives were to oppose the Stamp Act, but were later geared towards fighting for the Thirteen Colonies' general independence from Britain. Their famous motto was "No taxation without representation." -
