    Representatives from about 50 countries established the United Nations. This group was meant to encourage cooperation among nations and to help prevent future wars.

    On this day, Hitler seems to realize that he lost all hope that he will be able to win WWII. He commited suicide on his Berlin bunker.

    King went to Memphis, Tennessee to help aid African Americans sanitary workers who were holding a strike. King was standing on his balcony of his motel and James Earl Ray shot MLK Jr. with a high-powered rifle.
