I was 6 years old when my uncle came to visit me, he brought a box of books that at the time I had never heard of. He wanted to get rid of them and I offered to take them. I had no idea what I was getting into but I don't regret it one bit.

I was 9 years old and in school we had silent reading time. I used to always see one of my friends reading one of the Dairy of Wimpy Kid books. After reading time was over, I asked him what the book was about. After he explained it, I was hooked and read the whole series.

At this time in my life I had randomly found a marvel comic book somewhere and began to look at the images of all the superheros. Even though I enjoyed reading them and looking at the pictures, I became addicted in just collecting them.

This was my first essay written ever, our teacher told us the format. First the introduction, then the body paragraphs, finally the conclusion. She gave us a list of historical figure to search up and write about. I choose King Tut and tried my best on the essay but got a B. I still remember the facts about King Tut to this day.

After researching about King Tut, I no longer were interested in comic books or fictional books. I began to look deep into historical books, biography's, and autobiography's.

At this point I had already read so many books about most wars, and most historical events. It came to a point where I had just some surface-level knowledge about many events. I was getting bored and tired of reading historical books and began looking for a new, interesting genre.

I couldn't figure out what I liked and felt lost. That was until I came across a book named "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius. I became hooked after a couple of pages and began searching for books like it. That was when I figured out that I liked reading philosophical books, they gave me a sense of purpose.

Here I am now in AP English Language, interested in improving my writing so I could write a book, a Philosophical book of course. I have dug deep into the genre of philosophy and still haven't gotten tired of it. Who knows what the future may bring but for now I'll be reading novels, memoirs, and diary's all focused around philosophical topics.
