    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation Act was a law that restricted colonists from moving or settling West of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonist were angry and disagree with this act because they felt like British government was defying them and their trading settlements. So they defy the Proclamation which contributed to the American Revolution beginning.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was an act that stop the French and the West from smuggling sugar and other substances/materials. The colonies were furious and they felt like it was unfair because this act made the British enforced them to pay taxes towards the Sugar Act which result to some people going into debt and since the Sugar Act reduced trade, it made colonist not able to trade and provide for themselves/families.

    The Currency Act was an act that banned colonies from printing their own money, so it can prevent the British and the merchants from worrying too much over money being increased. The colonial response was they refused to pay towards this act and they had assemblies was forming to retaliate against this act, but the act continued to advance and expand.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was an act that force taxes on the colonist to pay for any paper documents. This act also was made to help the debt that the British Parliament was in due to the French and Indian War. The colonial response was that they rebelled against this act because they believed it was unconstitutional for them to pay taxes without their consent. They wanted the Stamp Act to be discontinued.
  • Quartering Act of 1765

    Quartering Act of 1765
    Quartering Act of 1765 was a law that the colonists had to followed that allowed British soldiers to reside in colonists home and they couldn’t protest or go against it they had to accept and treat them with care. The colonial response was they disagreed with this act and it’s term because they was already housing the soldiers in their homes, but also paying towards the army and their weaponries. They protested against this act.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act was an act that allowed the British Parliament to make laws for the American colonies meaning the same taxing that was happening in Britain was happening in American as well. This act was made after the Stamp Act was repeal and this led to the colonial having no response because this didn’t effect them as much.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Townshend Act was an act that taxed any goods/materials that was imported by the colonies. They enacted duties to be fulfilled due to the imports of paper,glass, and lead. The colonial response to the act was to refuse all British goods/materials. Townshend even raised the salary of colonial officials so they can stay loyal to the British.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a fight between British soldiers and American colonist due to the colonist protesting against the Townshend Acts and this soon led to riots breaking out and fights. This led to five colonist being killed. The colonial response was they were angry and this led to retaliation against the British government, therefore this soon leading to the colonist fighting for independence.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was a protest/retaliation that the American colonist did due to the British government not allowing “taxation without representation” which angered the colonist. The colonist got rid of 342 chest of tea. The colonial response was that the wanted to be heard, so they became resistant to British laws and protested with an unwavering mindset.
  • Quartering Act of 1774

    Quartering Act of 1774
    Quartering Act of 1774 was act that allowed all soldiers regardless if they are from American colonies or British to reside or stay in people homes which is very similar to the Quartering Act of 1765. The colonial response was that they opposed of this because they felt like it was unfair to be taxed and to provide food, an place to stay for the soldiers, and pay for the army needs.
  • Intolerable Act (Coercive Act)

    Intolerable Act (Coercive Act)
    Intolerable Act was a punishment to the colonies due to them dumping the British tea. This act provided five laws for the colonist to follow these rules were Boston Port Bill, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice, Quartering Act and Quebec Act. The colonial response was they tried to unite and conversation with
    British to come to an solution.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act allowed Catholics religious freedom or rights which led to the oath of loyalty being repealed. The colonial response was they felt like they were being ignored because they were constantly being denied their rights.
