Japanese invasion of China (1937)
he Japan-China War started in July 1937 when the Japanese claimed that they were fired on by Chinese troops at the Marco Polo Bridge near Beijing. Using this as an excuse, the Japanese launched a full-scale invasion of China using the conquered Manchuria as a launching base for their troops.The Japanese came up against little organised resistance. The Guomintang put up little resistance though they were up against a formidable enemy. -
Germany's invasion of Poland (1939)
In 1933, the National-Socialist German Workers' Party under its leader Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany.As early autumn of 1933, Hitler envisioned annexing such territories as Bohemia, Western Poland, and Austria to Germany and also the creation of satellite or puppet states. German Blitzkrieg (1939-1940)
On 1 September 1939, using a manufactured pretext, columns of German forces launched Blitzkeieg across the German-Poland border at more than ten points. The Germans It had about 1 million men against about 600,000 Poles available for active duty. The Luftwaffe had 3 planes for every Polish aircraft. Most of which were destroyed on the ground in the first few days.Which allowing the Wehrmacht to do its work with little to fear from the air. -
Operation Barbarossa (1941)
About four million soldiers of the Axis powers invaded Soviet Russia along a 2,900 km. This makes it the largest invasion in the history of warfare. In addition to troops, the Germans employed some 600,000 motor vehicles and between 600 to 700,000 horses. -
Pearl Harbor (1941)
Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. The barrage lasted just two hours, but it was devastating. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels. This including eight enormous battleships, and almost 200 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. -

Operation Thunderclap
