    Magna Carta

    The Magna Carta is a document that King John of England signed and is the basis for English citizen's rights, The Magna Carta was used to limit the power of the king.The Magna Carta was a collection of 37 English laws some old and some new and is still used to this day.
  • Petition of Right is drafted

    This is a statement of a person's fundamental rights which the King should agree to. These are the things it consitsted of freedom from arbitrary arrest and imprisonment,freedom from non-parliamentary taxation. freedom from the enforced billeting of troops,and freedom from martial law.
  • Bill Of Right

    There are ten amendments that were given to the people of Amercian in the 15 colonies. These are the list of themFreedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.Right to keep and bear arms. Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. Right to due process of law. Rights of accused persons and the right to a speedy and public trial.

    The Stamp Act was a tax imposed by the British government on the American colonies.The primary goal was to raise money needed for military British taxpayers paid for this document

    Representatives from each colony meet in Philadelphia. Each an every delegates from being sent to the congress would have to represent and discuss their response to the British about rights and colonys but some members boycott british goods and passed resolutions asserting colonial rights
  • 2nd Continental Congress

    The second continental congress meeting started with the battle of Lexington and Concord fresh in their memories.British troups attackt while thay were trying to drive the British out of Boston.established the militia as the Continental Army to represent the thirteen states. They also elected George Washington as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army.

    This book was written Thomas Paine for his country and his people to have a purpose and a way of basic knowleged on how to establish goverment with out a monarchy. He writes about how Government has its origins in the evil of man and is therefore a necessary evil at best. Paine says that government's sole purpose is to protect life, liberty and property, and that a government should be judged solely on the basis of the extent to which it accomplishes this goal.
