Dredd Scott
Dredd Scott's court cases caused a law to be passed wich stated that even if a slave owner moves to a free state they still own the slaves they took with them. This essentially allows people to own slaves withing northern state which contradicts the laws that they have passed. -
Uncle Toms Cabin
An anti-slavery book that inspired many activists and became very popular within the north. But in the south, the slave owners thought that they were being represented in a bad manor therefore further the souths hatred for the north. -
Republican Party
The republican party was formed in response to the Kansas-Nebraska act. The formation of a party only further divided the north and south. -
Kansas Nebraska Act
This act's purpose was, initially, to repeal the Missouri compromise. The biggest effect that this act had was causing the bleeding kansas battles. -

Bloody Kansas consisted of multiple battles between northern and southern citizens. The fights came about due to ongoing and passionate disagreements. -

LeCompton Constitution
This state constitution would protect the citizen's right to own slaves and deny any free African American of their rights. This goes against every belief of a republican and is one of the many causes of the civil war. -

This event consisted of multiple debates between Lincoln and Douglas. The main topic discussed was the Dredd Scott cases and The Kansas Nebraska act. Both of wich are very controversial. -
