    3 months after world war 1 had started, In August 1914 the Ottman Empire joined Wolrd war 1 on the side of Germany and Austria. They fought for Germany and Austria to ensure long-term security and survival.
  • New Zealand and Australian Division established

    On the 18th of January 1915, Australia and New Zealand formed a Division. Under the command of Major General Alexander Godley, a composite army was raised for service in World War 1. They came together to fight against their enemies.

    On the 4th of January 1915 Ottman forced an attack on Suez Canal. The Ottman army force was German-led and they advanced from Southern Palestine to attack the British Empire-protected Suez Canal.

    The 2nd of Feburay 1915 was the start of the naval attack on the Dardanelles. This attack was against the Ottman Empire. This failed attack resulted in heavy casualties. There were 205,000 for the British, 47,000 for the French and 250, 000 Turkish casualties.
  • Canterbury and Otago Mounted Rifles take part in attack on Hill 60

    On the 21st of August Canterbury and Otago Mounted Rifles were chosen to take part in the next battle to capture HILL 60. When the battle began Canterbury Mounted Rifles charging straight at the hill suffered sixty percent casualties.

    On the 14th of September 5,500 men had gone to the Sarpi relief camp. It was planned that they would have 2 weeks of resting time before going back into war but instead, it turned out to be 2 months these "resting troops" recovered.

    On the 11 of October Prime Minister Vasil Radoslavov announced that Bulgaria had entered World War 1 and was fighting for the side of the central powers they were Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire.
