The Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act
The meat inspection Act, banned misleading labels for items that contained harmful chemicals, is passed along with the Pure Food and Drug Act, which banned impure or false labeled food and drugs from being made. -
The Hepburn Act
President Roosevelt continues his "Square Deal" and passes the Hepburn Act, which further strengthened the Interstate Commerce Commission. -

William Taft wins the election after Roosevelt decided not to run for re-election. -
The Payne–Aldrich Tariff Act
The Payne–Aldrich Tariff Act is passed by Congres with the support of President Taft. Though this was essentially a compromise bill, it greatly angered many Progressives, including Roosevelt, and began to divide the GOP. -
Trust Busting
President Taft files close to one hundred antitrust suits against US companies on the grounds of enforcing the Sherman Antitrust Act. Though this pleased many Progressives, it worried Roosevelt because one of the companies Taft went after was the extremely large cooperation of US Steel, which Roosevelt described as a healthy trust for the US. -
The Progressive Party and the GOP Schism
Believing he would not win the primary against Taft, Roosevelt convinces his supporters to walk out of the Republican national convention. They would form the Progressive Party of 1912. -
United States Chamber of Commerce
President Taft creates the US Chamber of Commerce to counterbalance the growing labor movement. -
Assassination attempt
Theodore Roosevelt is shot by John Schrank but is saved when the bullet is stopped by a copy of his 50 page speech, which he still gave that same day. -

A four way battle between the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, The Progressive Party and the Socialist Party, ends with Woodrow Wilson and the Democratic Party claiming the Presidency. -
Progressive Party Falters
The Progressive Party dissolves when many of its members, including Roosevelt, revert back to the Republican party. -
Death
Theodore Roosevelt suffers a heart attack and dies at the age of 60.
