Contrary to what most Christians believe, the first creation of all were neither heavens nor the Earth, which are mentioned in Genesis 1:1. In Collosians 1:15-17 Bible clearly states that it was Jesus Christ who was created first by God, which means that Jesus Christ has existed as a Spirit long before coming to earth in human form. Afterwards, God alongside Jesus proceeded to the creation of both Spiritual and Physical Universe, including Angels and the Earth with all its life forms. -
According to most recent measurements made by NASA, the Universe is aproximately 13.7 Billion years old. This fact is expressed very simply in the first Bible verse from Genesis 1:1, which states: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” -
Acording to Bible, the days of creation should not be considered as literal 24 hour days, but rather each day represents a phase of creation which lasted an indefinite period of time, during which God transformed the “formless and desolate” earth into a habitable planet and created life on it. The Bible describes 6 groups of events that happened during these 6 days, or epochs of creation (Genesis 1:3-5).In the first day, God made light reach earth’s surface, resulting in night-and-day cycles. -
On the 2 Day of creation, God caused a separation between the waters that stayed upon the surface of the earth and the waters that became suspended like a great canopy around our globe. He called the expanse between these two great bodies of water “Heaven”. Throug this process, God provided the exactly right amount of gases in order to sustain the plants and breathing creatures that he would produce later. He also made the Atmosphere, to serve as a protection from meteors and harmful radiation. -
On the 3rd ‘creative day,’ God proceeded to raise the dry land out of ‘the waters beneath the expanse.’When the time came for their creation, animals and man would be able to make their homes on dry land, whilst the seas would swarm with marine life, and the vast areas of ocean would have a moderating effect, preventing too great extremes of heat and cold around the globe. Also God brought forth plants which now were able to reproduce its own “kind” in a delightful variety of colors and forms. -
What apparently happened on the “fourth day” is that for the first time the outline of sun, moon and stars became quite visible from the surface of the earth, probably because of a clearing of the atmosphere. A radiant sun now served as “luminary” to brighten the day and bring warmth. The moon on the other hand resulted in the soft, pleasant light we enjoy at night and serves as a satelite to our planet. In due course, man would be able to measure time by these two luminaries. -
During this phase of Creation, God created aquatic life and flying creatures. -
God’s invisible spirit became active in forming a marvelous variety of animal “kinds,”some of these animals being much more than pets: There are horses for riding, dogs for shepherding, elephants for transporting, oxen for plowing, sheep for providing wool, and so on. Animal “souls” have indeed served for the benefit and happiness of mankind. -
Based on the events described in the first book of Bible named Genesis, James Ussher, the Archbishop of the Church of Ireland in Armag, has calculated in the year 1650 the approximate date of creation of the first human - Adam! Published in 1650, the full title of Ussher's work is "Annals of the Old Testament, deduced from the first origins of the world, the chronicle of Asiatic and Egyptian matters together produced from the beginning of historical time up to the beginnings of the Maccabees).
