  • The Battle for North Africa

    The American army was lead by General Dwight D. Eisenhower as they invaded North Africa. When they where into western Tunisia they met with the german army. As the americans fought the germans they lost greatly, having 7,000 casualties and lost almost 200 tanks. The general in charge was fired. They did finally push them back with the British pushed german backs. And they surrendered on May 13,1943

    The Battle of the Alantic

    After Germany declared war on America they started to target American ships. As they were so easy to strike with there lights on the ships drove with there lights off and the cities also did.In August of 1942 America lost around 360 ships around the east cost. So America stared the convoy system to protect cargo ships. This system worked amazing and even though a lot of ships were sunk america was getting in more technology and it hurt the germans ships.

    The Battle of Stalingrad

    The Germans went to southern Russia to capture oil fields,factories, and farmlands. In hopes it would cut off supplies to Russia. In mid- september when the german troops entered Stalingrad they were told to not let the city go. The germans lost thousands of soldiers. As they weren't prepared for the cold. Germany surrender in the end and it was a big lose for Germany.
  • Striking Germany and Italy

    With the North African allied invasion showed that a large scale invasion in the sea was possible. So that inspires Roosevelt to meet with Churchill. They had a Conference called the Casablanca Conference, it was about how to cause destruction of the Germany military, industrial and economic system, and also destroy the morale of the German people.

    The Allies were dropping thousands of tons of bombs on Germany but with the Casablanca Conference they were going to step up the bombing in Germany. The bombing didn't destroy the moral or economy. But it did cause a severe oil shortage and destroyed the railroad system. Also bombed many aircraft factories and the German's never recovered

    With the Invasion of Sicily there was a combination of 150,000 troops with land and sea combined. Hitler only left two divisions in Sicily to fight, which posed a big problem as it was not strong enough to ward away the Allies. With the Invasion of the allies the Italian fascist regime fell. a new government was set up who opposed Nazi Germany. And after that troops slowly withdrew
  • The Tehran Conference

    Roosevelt,Churchill,and Stalin met in Iran to discuss plan before invading France. They also made many agreement like Roosevelt and Stalin dividing Germany after the war, also the soviet union would help America take down Japan

    After the Tehran Conference. Roosevelt and Churchill were planning the invasion on France and then hope Germany would join in to defend France, which would make them have to defend 2 fronts. Stretching them thin

    With almost 7,000 ships carrying more then 100,000 soldiers headed for Normandy's cost.There were also 23,000 paratroopers were dropped east and west of the beaches. The Americans suffered less then 200 casualties. This was because the Germans defense was weak. So in the end of this the invasion was a success.
