    Operation Rolling Thunder was the dropping of bombs constantly over parts of North Vietnam. The US Air Force and Navy were the branches behind the bombings and this continued on for another 3.5 years.

    President Nixon orders secret bombings of Cambodia and Laos to begin to take place. The purpose for these bombings was to hit Vietcong supply camps as well as bases for the People's Army of Vietnam. The US in total dropped roughly 2.7 million tons of bombs. Everything in red was effected by a bomb.

    President Nixon announces that he is withdrawing 70,000 troops from Vietnam as the efforts are proving to lack success. Over the next few months more withdraws happen lowering the total number of troops to below 30,000
