It took 10 months for the first nine states to approve the Constitution. The first state to ratify was Delaware, on December 7, 1787, by a unanimous vote, 30 - 0. The featured document is an endorsed ratification of the federal Constitution by the Delaware convention. -

The Louisiana Purchase
In the 1800s, France sold the land west of the U.S, to the U.S because they were running out of money due to the war with Britain they were fighting. King Napoleon Bonaparte sold this land to us for $15 million dollars. This doubled our land size, though there were complications with the land being settled with Britain. -
Assassinaton of Abraham Lincoln
Our American Cousin at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C., a darkly clad figure burst through the door of Lincoln's box in the balcony and shot the President point-blank in the back of his head. Mary Todd Lincoln screamed and tried to shield Lincoln with her body. The assassin, John Wilkes Booth, leaped from the box to the stage to make his escape.
The wound to Lincoln's head took the President's life early the next morning. -
John Fitzgerald Kennedy Assassination
At about 12:30 Pm JFK and his wife were riding in a convertible down the Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas when J.F.K was assassinated. He was shot through his the Back of his head. Within A half an hour he was called dead there. The man responsible for the crime was Lee Harvey Oswald, The gun he used was a 6.5×52mm Carcano Model 91/38 carbine, This gun was fired 3 times which along with killing JFK it hit Governor Connolly. -
APOLLO 11
On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin became the first humans ever to land on the moon. About six-and-a-half hours later, Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon. As he set took his first step, Armstrong famously said, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The Apollo 11 mission occurred eight years after President John Kennedy announced a national goal of landing a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s. -
Nine Eleven
There were 4 planes. 2 planes crashed into both the north and south Twin Towers, this was one of the worst terrorist attacks of all time. One of the planes even crashed into the pentagon building. this killed 2996 people and injured over 6 thousand people. -
Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting
On December 14th, 2012 there was a fatal shooting at an elementary school. Adam Lanza shot 20 kids between the ages 6 and 7, also 6 adult staff members. Total there was 28 total deaths, Including his mother and him taking his own life. This changed the way that the government does background checks in able to get guns in the united States.
