    René Laënnec was born in Bretagne in 1781 and he died in 1826. He was a doctor and he wrote many books about medicine, and he studied many ilnesses, such as tuberculosis he invented the stethoscope in 1816. The reason to invent the stethoscope was that he nedded to hear the noise of people's healts and lungs to cure them

    The stethoscopes used today are very similar to the ones used in the 1930s. New materials such as flexible rubber, stainless steel, and tygon make them lighter and easier to use.
    The invention of new materials, such as rubber and stainless and steel, has helped the stethoscope to become a very useful medical instrument.
