    The Seven Years' War, a global conflict known in America as the French and Indian War, ends with the signing of the Treaty of Paris by France, Great Britain, and Spain. This event was important because it is the reason England needed money, to pay for the damage of the French and Indian War.

    After the French and Indian War ended, England had to pay for all the damages that the war had caused. After that they were in a bad situation. They were in a financial crisis and they needed money to finish paying for the war damage. This event is the reason the Stamp Act was established in the colonies. England were in debt and they needed to do what they could to get the money to finish paying for damages from the war.

    The Sugar Act was a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses act and was passed when the Sugar and Molasses act was about to expire. The reason it was passed was because people were ignoring the Sugar and Molasses Act. It required colonists to pay a tax on all sugar from the French West Indies. That way people would buy sugar from the British West Indies,Thus making Britain richer. This angered the colonists, thus shortening the time until the American Revolution.

    King George issued the stamp act to pay for the French and Indian war, it basically meant that every piece of paper had to have a stamp for people to conduct legal business. people became very angry about the stamp act because they felt that the colonies should have a representitive in parlamant but England wouldn't give them one. This was one of the major events leading up to the American Revolution.

The merchants were sympathetic to the colonists because they saw that the stamps were being locked up by angry rebels, because of this people in the colonies coudln't conduct legal buisness because they didn't have any stamps to put on their papers and they couldn't buy any because the rebels either burned them or locked them up,. The ending of the Stamp Act might have postponed the American Revolution.
