Women started to gain more rights such as the right to vote. Their responsibility increased. so jobs were easier to find jobs and working outside of their homes was more acceptable. -
Farming
Farmers became more skillful and efficient in producing food. But supply and demand was still unbalanced. Food such as bread decreased dramatically in price. -
Ku Klux Klan
Prohibition cause the rise of the KKK and they went from hating just blacks to everybody that wasnt a white native american protestent. -
Prohibition
It banned the consumption, selling of, and transporting of alcohol. Even though alcohol was illegal it didnt stop people from drinking it, selling it, and transporting it. Al capone was the major gangster that sold alcohol illegally. -
The Election
The Democratic party was having trouble with the election and needed 103 ballots to nominate their canidate, Governor John Davis. Republicans won the election and Coolidge became president. -
The Scopes Trial
A High School teacher was put on trial for teaching the theoy of evolution in school. He eventually lost the trial and had to pay charges of $100. People had called the trial "monkey trial" -
Home Run Record
Babe Ruth had broken the home run record in 1927. He had a total of 60 home runs. It wasnt broken until 1960. -
Black Thursday
At the end of the 1920's the stock markets crashed and caused the start of the Great Depression.
