    The Treaty of Versailles is signed. Germany cannot have a military over 100,000 and they have to pay all damages for the war.
  • Adolf Hitler becomes the leader of the NAZIS

    Adolf Hitler becomes leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party. This party led by Hitler criticizes the German democratic government and supports the idea that Jew, Gypsies, Salvs were to be eliminated from the "Master Race"
  • Hitler sent to jail and writes "Mein Kampf"

    Hitler sent to jail and writes "Mein Kampf"
    The Nazi attempt to over throw the government but the attempt is not sucessful and Hitler is sent to jail. While in jail, he writes his book "Mein Kampf (My Struggle)," which was his plan for attaining power.
  • Vast increase in Nazi power

    Throughout the entire year of 1928, the Nazi power in the German parliament increased vastly.

    The Stock Market on Wall Street crashes, sending the entire world into a gloabl depression.
  • Hitler becomes Fuhrer of Germany

    Hitler becomes Fuhrer of Germany
    Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. A week before the election, the Reichstag burns. The Nazi party only had a small majority in the parliament, but they gain the power to re-write Germany's constituion. The Nazi party is declared as the only party in Germany, and Hitler declares himself the dictator of Germany.
  • Germany marches into the Rhineland

    Germany violates the Treaty of Versailles by taking back the Rhineland. The League of Nations takes no action against this.
  • The AXIS is formed

    A non-agression treaty is signed between Italy, Germany and Japan. These are the AXIS powers throughout WWII.
  • Germany invades Poland

    Germany invades Poland. German tanks rolled into the country along with heavy aerial bombardment. Germany quickly seized control of Poland
  • War is declared

    Britian and France declare war on Germany
  • Canada declares war

    Canada declares war on Germany and the battle on the Atlantic Ocean begins.
