The Stamp Act
Anything that was printed on paper would now have to have a revenue stamp for it. Anyone who bought anything that was paper would now have to buy that item and a stamp. This Act is important to the road to revolution because it shows the first major Act that was placed on the colonists.

Townshend Revenue Acts
A series of Acts that would tax the colonists and raise money for Great Britain. The acts that were in the Townshend Acts were the Restraining Act, the Townshend Revenue Act, the Indemnity Act, the Commissioners of Customs Acts, and the Vice-Admiralty Act. These acts were important to the road to revolution, it is one of the first things that angered the colonists.

Boston Massacre
A group of people from Boston started to throw snowballs at the British soldiers. This angered the soldiers and the Bostonians would not stop. The British soldiers ended up firing at the mob and killing 5 people, Crispus Attucks being the first to die. This massacre is important to the road to revolution because it was the first blood shed of the war.

The Boston Tea Party
This is when the group the Sons of Liberty all dressed as Native Americans and at night boarded a ship full of tea. They got on the ship and dumped all of it into the Boston Harbor. They dumped almost $1 million in today's money into the harbor. This is important to the road to revolution because it caused many other Acts and punishments to be put on the colonists.

The First Continental Congress.
This group was made up of representatives from 12 of the 13 colonies. Georgia was the only colony without a representative. They all met together and discussed how to react to the recently placed Intolerable Acts. They met and discussed from September 5, 1774- October 26 1774. This was important on the road to the revolution because it was the first form of government that the colonies had shown.
