The slogan was ¨no taxation without representation¨

    The Townsend acts consisted of many different laws from the British Parliament enforced on the American colonies. It would tax every imported good to America. They were taxed on every single piece of paper they used, and glass, tea, paint, and lead. This made a huge uproar in the American Colonies. This caused a series of boycotts on imported goods, which leads to conflict to come.

    The Boston Massacre was an important role in uniting the colonies against the British. It started as patriots confronted British soldiers. It quickly escalated and ended in five men dying and a few others injured. They were fired upon with flintlocks and muskets. The news of this was quickly swept around with propaganda thanks to Paul Revere and others. This ultimately was a building block for the colonial army.

They dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea imported by the British East India Company. It was organized by Samuel Adams. It gave more confidence in colonist for standing up for their rights. Following the Boston Tea Party, the British parliament made the Intolerable act, ultimately punishing the rebellious colonist.

    To go further into depth. It was actually a series of multiple laws passed by the British parliament. Ultimately is was laws to punish them. The five intolerable acts were the Boston Port Act, Quebec act, Quartering Act, Administration of Justice Act, and Massachusetts Government Act. They decreased government officials power, stripped rights of electing who they wanted, taking away some of their rights to owning land. Many colonist didnt listen, and boycotted, others were made more scared.

The speech goes about how Patriots need to be ready to fight, for their rights to freedom, to unite, and no longer be separated by colonies, but be one. That same day the congress passed a resolution building a strong defense army. Overall an important aspect of becoming awoken on the seriousness of indepence.

    The British General Thomas Gage was leading his men to go to Lexington and capture the colonial leaders; Sam Adams, and John Hancock. As well as destroying ammunition and weapons in concord. War-saving news, Colonial spies intercepted this information and got everyone prepared for what was about to happen. At Lexington British were confronted by around 77 American Soldiers. The first shot fired by the British was known as "The shot heard around the World." The British were heavily damaged.
