    The stamp act was to increase the cost of defending the British Empire. It was the first British raise direct taxation. Significance: Made the colonist rage about using stamps and also started rioting.

    Townshend act was four acts, the Townshend Acts were passed by the British Parliament in an attempt to assert its historic right to have authority over the colonies for the collection of revenue. Significance: People Outlasted with verbal and physical violence.

    Boston Massacre 1770
    In Boston, a small British army that was threatened by mob shot and killed five people, this was known as the Boston Massacre. The soldiers were charged with murder and were given a trial, in which John Adams had a successful defense. Significance: When the Americans began taunting the British and throwing things at them, the soldiers apparently lost their cool and began firing into the crowd. This also was the turning point in the Revolution.

    The Boston Tea Party was a protest on tax on tea and there was $11,077 worth of tea dumped into the harbor hence the Boston Tea Party. Significance: This taxing on tea and them throwing it into the harbor would cause riots and protest.

    The Coercive Acts 1774 - In april 18, 1775, a man named by Paul Revere rode from Charlestown to Lexington to warn the British were marching from Boston to take over the colonial armory at concord. It is unclear who fired the first shot in Boston but 8 american soldiers died. Significance: Soldiers were lost and started a lot of friction plus the british column was outnumbered and running low on ammo so they were forced to retire to Boston.

    Lexington and Concord 1775 - First war in the Road to Revolution was an attack by the British on Lexington to get more military supplies. Significance: Would put the British in a good spot based on power and could be the cause of success or defeat.

    The Road to Revolutionary started with Lexington and Concord, it was unclear whether the southern colonies who didn't have the same as the northern colonies would be all in for a war of independence.That was before the brutal British naval bombing and burning of the coastal towns of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Significance: Coastal people seized the burning of the two ports to make the argument that the colonists needed to band together against a heartless enemy.
