    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was an act that prohibited colonials from having or owning land west of the Appalachian Mountains. The proclamation created conflicts and angered many people. The colonists still moved out toward the west land even if they were not allowed to.
  • The Sugar Act of 1764

    The Sugar Act of 1764
    The Sugar Act of 1764 stopped smuggling between the colonies and the French West Indies. It also lowered the taxes of molasses imported by the colonies. The colonists were so angry they boycotted the Sugar Act.
  • The Currency Act of 1764

    The Currency Act of 1764
    The Currency Act proibited the issue of any new dollar bills from being made. The colonies did not like this act so they protested against it.
  • The Stamp Act of 1765

    The Stamp Act was an act where certain papers were stamped specially and were taxed differently than other papers, in British dollars. Colonies sent potitions and protested against this law.

    The Quartering Act of 1765 was an act where the army was allowed to take any houses they liked for war. The colonies disputed over how legal this act was.
  • The Stamp Act Congress of 1765

    The Stamp Act Congress of 1765
    The Stamp Act Congress was a meeting meant to discuss whether or not to bring back the original Stamp Act. Protests going on outside stopped the Stamp Act Congress from being appealed again.
    "That his Majesty’s Subjects in these Colonies, owe the same Allegiance to the Crown of Great-Britain, that is owing from his Subjects born within the Realm, and all due Subordination to that August Body the Parliament of Great-Britain"

    The Declaratory Act of 1766
    The Declaratory Act stated that the parliaments authority was the same in America as well as Britain. The colonists were angered because they knew more this act would lead to more that they would dislike.
    " And be it further declared and enacted by the authority aforesaid, That all resolutions, votes, orders, and proceedings, in any of the said colonies or plantations, whereby the power and authority of the parliament of Great Britain, to make laws and statutes as aforesaid, is denied, or drawn"
  • The Townshend Act of 1767

    The Townshend Act of 1767
    The Townshend Act created new taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea. The colonists were very angry and made protests.
    "And it is hereby further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That no drawback shall be allowed for any china earthen ware sold, after the passing of this act, at the sale of the united company of merchants of England trading to the East Indies, which shall be entered for exportation from Great Britain to any part of America;any law, custom, or usage, to the contrary"
