  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act said that the Colonist will have a tax on sugar, syrup, rum, and molasses. This taxed started because of all the expenses of the French and Indian war.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The Quartering act said that soldiers could stay in any home they please and receive a place to sleep, food, water, and any other necessities. This act was made to help provide shelter for the more troops that came to the Colonies to protect colonial interest.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This act taxed all paper based products. This tax was supposed to be a different approach from the Sugar Act.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    The act said that any British solider was allowed to search any household for illegally imported goods. This was passed because the colonists were illegally importing goods into the colonies.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea Act granted the East India Tea Company A monopoly on tea sales in the colonies. This act was passed because of The East India Tea Company was starting to lose money.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act
    This act forbade colonists from loading any cargo onto any ships. The reason the British made this act was because the Colonists threw tea into the harbor.
  • Ma Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act

    Ma Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
    The acts state that the colonists may not hold a meeting without the governor. Also the governor must be loyal to Britain and if he have committed any crimes he will be tried in Britain. This was to prevent any secret meetings to rebel against the British.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    The Quebec Act says that the territory of Quebec is expanding. The reason the British wanted to do this was to be able to tax more and more people.
