  • Navigation Acts

    The Navigation Acts regulated trade between the colonies and Europe. They were passed by the English Parliment. Only England would benefit from trade with the colonies. Colonists from other countries were only able to trade with England and not their own countries.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War was a war between the French and the English, with the Native Americans taking sides. The war took place for control of the Ohio Valley. In result of the French and Indian War, the English rose taxes for the colonists. The English also set a line to prevent the colonists to move west.
  • Pontiac's War

    Pontiac was a Native American chief who got different tribes together and fought the English. This caused the Proclamation of 1763.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 was the law that set an imaginery line of where the settlers could not go west of the Appalacian Mountians. People who were west of the line were told to remove themselves immediately. This caused a lot of upset.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act taxed molasses and sugar coming in from the West Indies.
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts took place when the Parliament decided to place more taxes on items being imported to the colonies. It taxed everything that was imported from England.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was a law that stated that all legal documents must be taxed. In addition, this taxed a lot of additional items including paper. This made a lot of the colonists angry
  • Stamp Act Repealed

  • Troops come to Boston due to rioting

  • Boston Massacre

    British officials shot and killed 5 people and injured 10 other protestors When they freaked out.
  • Townshend Acts are repealed
