    To limit settlement of this territory, Britian issued the Procalamtion of 1763. The Britian troops also saw the proclamation of 1763 as a limit on their freedom.

    In 1764 parliament passed the sugar act becasue they wanted a new law in place to stop smuggling, Grenvile tried to increase tax revenue. Thge act lowered tax on molasses imported by the colonists.
