  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This tax was put on molasses in order to pay revenue for the war Britain was fighting. The colonist were upset and confined they had no right to tax the Americas,
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act
    This act was put in place to control the printing of paper money. This act was to help appease the British merchants who did not trust the colonial currency. The money the colonist had left of their own currency was used to pay taxes (national debt) not personal debt (paying merchants). This ferreted the colonists and it caused a rift between America and its mother country.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed. The colonists retaliated and formed mobs to get it repealed.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This tax was put on anything imported into the American colonies. The colonists felt that the British were abusing their power and so the colonists had protests and boycotted the goods.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    This tax was on tea that was imported into the colonies. When the Townshend act was repealed they made a new one to make sure they still had taxes and power coming from the Americas. The Bosnians retaliated and form the Boston Tea Party and destroyed over 10 thousand pounds worth of tea.
