    The Emperor made a law that trade in the West would only be accepted at the port of Guangzhou.

    The British get into the Chinese court room even though the emperor is very excluding of outside countries. They bring presents to show what the Chinese could have if only the Emperor let them trade with each other.

    Qian Long retired three years before he died because he did not want to out length his grandfather's reign.

    The emperor sent comissioner Lin Zexu to stop trading of drugs in the Guang Zhou port.

    The British and Chinese were at war over the drug trading. The war ended in 1842 with a Chinese loss.

    Rebellions caused a great war that lasted fourteen years.

    The Chinese have another war over the same matter and this also ends in defeat for them.
