When pony went out from the movie theater，he began to recalling the old memories. He was one of the Greasers, and he used his own language to describe his two older brothers – Darry and Soda and other friends of their gang. In addition, their gang struggled against another gang which is called Soc. -

This chapter firstly introduces the Soc, it’s because both of them are sco’s boys’ girlfriends. They are the blasting fuse; make a foundation to the later chapters. -

Pony boy was waiting for his friends to watch a movie, and they had the seats which were behind of two beautiful girls—Cherry and Marcia. Dally wanted to talk to them, but was stopped by Johnny, and he left. Pony boy talked with Cherry about Johnny and mentioned a little about Soc characteristic. Two- bit came. -

This sense shows the conflicts between Pony and Darry, it tells that the relationship between them. And Darry never think about Pony’s feeling. -

After the movie, Two-bit was about to drive them home, but cherry and pony chatted about greasers and soc. While they were talking, Bob and Randy drove a car coming, they just pretended that they didn’t see them, and Pony talked about the relationship between him and Darry. Then socs came back, and take Cherry and Marcia away, and then these greasers went home. When pony returned home, Darry had waited for him a long time. Darry was angry, and he hit pony, then pony run out to a lot. -

Pony went to the lot, and he met Johnny; just a minute, several socs drove to the lot too. They started to drawn pony, Johnny was shut down, but when he saw Pony was beaten and was going dying, he began to fight back; he used his knife to poke Bob. Then bob died. Pony and Johnny were scared and helpless; they went to Dally’s home and asked for his help. Dally gave them some equipment to overcome this terrible situation. -

We can know that the long hair was the greasers’ symbol, they had to cut it. This plot also shows they were pure and kind, they plaint the hardship too. They also got the good side, and they just were helpless and hard to tell. -

Dally visited Pony and Johnny after that, they asked Dally something about the polices. Dally said that they were safe and they didn’t worry about that, Dally also brought a letter that was from Darry. It was mainly about the Darry’s sadness and love. Then Dally took them to eat DQ and told Pony and Johnny about the fight in lot between greasers and socs. -

This letter means that Darry still loved Pony and Darry just couldn’t express in behavior. All of them loved each other; they were just hard to say. What’s more, this plot also pushes forward the development of this story. -
Cheery became the spy (1)
Cheery became greasers’ spy at that time, and she thought all the trouble was made by her, she did everything wrong. However she would make a provement that Johnny didn’t kill Bob designedly. -

This plot means that Cheery mixed herself, her mind was heavy. Furthermore, she was kind and warm-hearted. Not all the scos were bad and evil, there still had someone good. She still thought some of greasers were nice, they just were affirmed to be bad by the society, greasers couldn’t do anything to change this point and they knew this situation was hardly changed. -

When Pony, Johnny and Dally were going to go, they saw the church got set on fire. Johnny and Ponyboy ran in to help the children who were in fire, and Dally also came to save some little kids later. After that, Johnny got hurts badly, and then Dally runs in after to save Johnny. Moreover, Jerry who was the teacher in the church praised them. They said they were greasers. However, it was seems that Jerry didn’t believe them. -

Darry and Pony finally made peace, but when Pony heard the news that Johnny was going to die, he was so grieved. Everyone had a most important person in their heart, Pony’s world began to shake since then. -

Darry and Soda came when Pony were in the ambulance, Darry said sorry to Ponyboy, he was afraid of losing Ponyboy. Finally Ponyboy came home. After that, when greasers sat the hospital and waited for Dally and Johnny, some reporters and polices came. The doctor said that Dally was not in danger, Johnny’s situation was terrible. Ponyboy was very sad to hear that, because Johnny was his best friend. -

Ponyboy might be sent to the orphanage because of the family’s poor condition, however Pony was strongly disagree with that. Moreover, Randy came to Pony’s home and had a conversation with Pony. Randy said that he wouldn’t join in the fight tonight. It was he had already been tired of fighting between two gangs. But he couldn’t make any difference, he wanted to avoid. But the fact was that he was just a person, he couldn’t represent the whole gang. -

The conflicts between Pony and Cherry (1)
Johnny was afraid of death, although he used to try all the ways to kill himself. But he knew there were still a lot of things hadn’t been done. At the same time, Dally borrowed the knife from 2-bit. Dally always used it during the vital period. At the meantime, Ponyboy saw Cheery on the sco’s car, and Cheery said that due to pony killed Bob, she would never visit Ponyboy. -
The conflicts between Pony and Cherry (2)
We can find out that only after you lost, you realized that you must value that, but it was too late to know. What’s more, Cheery made her final decision that she wouldn’t visit Pony, She was still one of Scos. Pony was sad, because Cheery didn’t understand him. -

Pony talked about why they always had to fight with his two brothers. Then the greasers went to the lot and were going have a final fight with socs. The greasers had 20 people; while the scos had 22 people. After a furious fight, the greasers went to the hospital. -

All the things have results and consequences, everything needs to be paid. Although they won the fight, they still couldn’t change the conditions; they were still hopeless and couldn’t make any difference. All the things would just repeat all the time. -

All Pony worried about was Johnny, and Pony told the result about fight to Johnny. However, Johnny was dying, he told Pony that staying good was very important. Johnny died, and Pony’s world was broken, he became mad. -

The greasers couldn’t face the truth; Pony was very sad, because Johnny was his best friend. Johnny wanted to protect Pony, and let Ponyboy live in his own way. Johnny knew the real meaning of living, however, he didn’t accomplish it. That was the reason why he wanted Pony to stay good. This plot also made foundation, and push the story to the end. -

This chapter was sorrowful, all the greasers made their decision. The saddest man was Dally, he couldn’t stand this consequence. Johnny was the most important man in his life, he didn’t know how to live without Johnny, and then he died too. -

After that, Johnny went out, his mind was empty. He was helpless, all of greasers were helpless. Pony didn’t believe this information that his best friend died. Dally also refused to accept this news, he rob a store on purpose, and the police shooued the running Dally, Dally died. Due to the sadness and cerebral concussion, Pony slept four days. When he woke up, Darry gave him Johnny’s book. -

Randy came to visit Ponyboy and told Ponybot that he would go to the court. It was mainly about the Bob’s death. However, Ponyboy was crazy, he said that Johnny couldn’t be died. They talked about Johnny, and Pony was so excited that Rand went out. -

Ponyboy still couldn’t face the truth and had a conflict with Randy. Everyone would be mad when they lost their most valuable thing or people. -
Three brothers made peace with each other (1)
Sodapop receives his letter to Sandy back and unopened, then he can't stand Darry and Ponyboy bickering and runs out, after that, Pony and Darry went out to find Soda. They three had a long conversation and made peace with each other, and they promised each other that tere wouldn’t be any fights any more. -

These three boys made peace with each other finally, they are brothers after all, and they couldn’t live without each other. Sometimes, we just lack of a explanation, all the things can be solved. We should value our friends as long as we are together, we shouldn’t make any regrets. -

They all go to court and Ponyboy was allowed to stay with Darry. After that, Ponyboy saw the letter which was from Johnny, it said that Johnny thought everything was worth it, he wanted Pony to be himself, and be a good man. He also wanted let Darry knew the truth: There were still a lot of wonderful things in the world. However, Johnny didn’t know Darry had died for him. -

At the same time, Ponyboy decided to write the essay about the greaser’s story, then there had the first sentence in the story: When Pony stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, Pony had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. -

Finally, the story ended like this. Everything had its consequences and results, every greaser was growing as the story happened, and they knew something that they never realized.
