    When pony went out from the movie theater,he began to recalling the old memories. He was one of the Greasers, and he used his own language to describe his two older brothers – Darry and Soda and other friends of their gang. In addition, their gang struggled against another gang which is called Soc.

    The reason why the author writes these is that they all are the main characters in this novel, it can make the reader know more clearly to have this plots. And the background can help the reader know what is happened, why is happened and where is happened.
    Besides that, pony said that he was forced to cut his hair by Soc,’s, then his gang’s member came out, and expelled Soc’s away.

Then socs came back, and take Cherry and Marcia away, and then these greasers went home. When pony returned home, Darry had waited for him a long time. Darry was angry, and he hit pony, then pony run out to a lot.

They started to drawn pony, Johnny was shut down, but when he saw Pony was beaten and was going dying, he began to fight back; he used his knife to poke Bob. Then bob died. Pony and Johnny were scared and helpless; they went to Dally’s home and asked for his help. Dally gave them some equipment to overcome this terrible situation.

Then Dally took them to eat DQ and told Pony and Johnny about the fight in lot between greasers and socs.

Johnny and Ponyboy ran in to help the children who were in fire, and Dally also came to save some little kids later. After that, Johnny got hurts badly, and then Dally runs in after to save Johnny. Moreover, Jerry who was the teacher in the church praised them. They said they were greasers. However, it was seems that Jerry didn’t believe them.

Ponyboy was very sad to hear that, because Johnny was his best friend.

Randy said that he wouldn’t join in the fight tonight. It was he had already been tired of fighting between two gangs. But he couldn’t make any difference, he wanted to avoid. But the fact was that he was just a person, he couldn’t represent the whole gang.

At the meantime, Ponyboy saw Cheery on the sco’s car, and Cheery said that due to pony killed Bob, she would never visit Ponyboy.

    All the things have results and consequences, everything needs to be paid. Although they won the fight, they still couldn’t change the conditions; they were still hopeless and couldn’t make any difference. All the things would just repeat all the time.

    All Pony worried about was Johnny, and Pony told the result about fight to Johnny. However, Johnny was dying, he told Pony that staying good was very important. Johnny died, and Pony’s world was broken, he became mad.

    The greasers couldn’t face the truth; Pony was very sad, because Johnny was his best friend. Johnny wanted to protect Pony, and let Ponyboy live in his own way. Johnny knew the real meaning of living, however, he didn’t accomplish it. That was the reason why he wanted Pony to stay good. This plot also made foundation, and push the story to the end.

    This chapter was sorrowful, all the greasers made their decision. The saddest man was Dally, he couldn’t stand this consequence. Johnny was the most important man in his life, he didn’t know how to live without Johnny, and then he died too.

Dally also refused to accept this news, he rob a store on purpose, and the police shooued the running Dally, Dally died. Due to the sadness and cerebral concussion, Pony slept four days. When he woke up, Darry gave him Johnny’s book.

After that, Ponyboy saw the letter which was from Johnny, it said that Johnny thought everything was worth it, he wanted Pony to be himself, and be a good man. He also wanted let Darry knew the truth: There were still a lot of wonderful things in the world. However, Johnny didn’t know Darry had died for him.
