    The Mongols defeated North India using guns and artillery. The Mongols were lead by Genghis Khan.

    Babur ruled during years of aggression and could not stabilize the empire.

    Babur's death

    Once Babur died in 1530, his son Humayan takes the throne. The nobles saw great weakness in Humayan and knew they were doomed.

    Humayun lose India

    Humayun was weak as a leader and Sher Shan Suri, of the Sur Dynasty took advantage of it. Humayun and his people were forced out of India. The refugees go to Persia and make a strong bound with the dynasties.

    Humayun dies

    Humayun was going up the stairs carrying books, tripped, and fell. His fall made him die shortly after.

    Once Sher Shan Suri and his son die, Humayun and the Persians march to India. Their forces were controled by Bairam Khan

    Akbar gets advice from his mother and gets Khan assassinated. Now Akbar is in control of the empire.

    Akbar was good for the economy

    Traded with Europe and got Flint guns.
  • Jahangir Son of Akbar.

    Jahangir takes control and gets defeated. He still gets support from the women including his mom and is successor once again.
  • Jahangir's son

    Jahangir's son tries to rebel against his father but fails. His followers are killed and he is blinded.
  • Jahangir neglects his role as ruler.

    Jahangir gets addicted to alcohol and opium and dies. Shan Jahan then takes the role of successor.
  • The Taj Mahal

    Shan Jahan Starts to build the Taj Mahal in honor of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
  • Aurangzeb defeats Dara Shikoh

    Though Shah Jahan has recovered by this point, Aurangzeb declares him unfit for rule and has him imprisoned. Aurangzeb goes on to expand the empire, but his harsh religious conservatism undermines the stability of the empire
