    Printing press

    A printing press is a device for applying pressure to an inked surface. The printing press was one of the most influential events in the second millenium. The printing press was developed by Johannes Gutenberg in 1439.
  • Submarine

    A submarine is a type of boat that can travel under the water. The first submersible was designed and built in 1620 by Cornelis Drebbel. It was propelled by means of oars.
  • Steam engine

    The steam engine is a device that performs mechanical works. In 1712 the first commercially-successful engine was developed by Thomas Newcomen.
    In the 19th century, the steam engine produced important advances in the Industrial Revolution.
  • Automobile

    The automobile is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transportation. Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot creates the first mechanical vehicle in about 1769. One of the first cars that were accessible to the masses was the 1908 Model T, an American car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. Over the decades, additional features and controls have been added to vehicles.

    A dynamo is an electrical generator that creates direct current using a commutator. Dynamos were the first electrical generators capable of delivering power for the industry. Michael Faraday invented the dynamo in 1831.

    The telegraph is the long-distance transmission of textual or symbolic messages. The telegraph is the device that produces these telegraphies. The telegraph was invented by Baron-Schilling in 1832. On 21st of October Schilling managed a short distance transmission of signals between two telegraphs in different rooms of his apartment.

    An electric locomotive is a locomotive powered by electricity from overhead lines. The first known electric locomotive was built in 1837 by chemist Robert Davidson. Davidson later built a larger locomotive named Galvani, exhibited at the Royal Scottish Society of Arts Exhibition in 1841. An advantage of electrification is the absence of pollution.

    The 11th of July, in 1874, the engineer Alexander Lodygin, invented the light bulb. The light bulb is one of the most widely used inventions by man since its creation to date.
  • Telephone

    The telephone was the first device in history that enabled people to talk directly with each other across large distances. In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell was the first to be granted a United States patent for a device that produced clearly intelligible replication of the human voice.
  • Cinema

    The Lumières held their first private screening of projected motion pictures on 22nd March 1895. This first ''film'' was about a train arriving at its station and lasted 46 seconds.
  • Airplane

    The airplane is a vehicle that can fly and transport people from one place to another.
    During the 1890s, brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright became interested in the world of aviation. The Wright brothers invented and flew the first airplane in 1903.
