Sung-Eun's Birth
Sung-Eun was born into a very blessed family. Her father was a very hard working person that worked in the Blue House and her mother was a strict, yet caring person. When Sung-Eun was born, she was the first child to the family and she received tons of love from all of her family members. -
Martin Luther King Jr Assassination

He was a man that fought against racism and discrimination towards the African-Americans in America. He was a hero and he disagreed with judgements and prejudices which is what Sung-Eun went through in her future middle school years. False rumors about her made everyone hate her, causing Sung-Eun to be harshly bullied. -
Beginning Cello
In her fourth grade year, Sung-Eun first started the cello as a simple hobby. It was just a fun instrument she started with her friend and she had no idea that it would become her life. However, she always loved the cello and enjoyed the beautiful sound of it. -
Park Chung Hee's Assassination
Park Chung HeeSouth Korea's dicatator, Park Chung Hee was assassinated. Although he was a dictator, citizens loved him because he helped Korea improve its economy and rise as a global leader. Due to his fall, the economy in Korea became unstable which is why bribery was accepted. It was natural for students to bribe teachers in order to get on their good side but Byong-Jo knew it was wrong. -
Yewon Arts School Competition
This is when Sung-Eun entered the yearly competition that Yewon held and won second place. Usually, those who win in this competition attend Yewon but Sung-Eun couldn't apply for Yewon at first. She spent day and night practicing for this competition and her mom was her greatest supporter. -
Entering Yewon Arts Middle School

Due to Byong-Jo's harsh disagreement, Sung-Eun couldn't enter the school in the beginning of year. Instead, she entered a few months after school started and that's where all of her problems began. -
Chun Doo Hwan's No Tutor Policy
South Korea in 1980In the same year that Sung-Eun entered Yewon Art Middle School, the 5th president of Korea, Chun Doo Hwan enforced the "no tutor" policy. Students weren't allowed to get extra tutoring outside of school and private lessons were forbidden. Sung-Eun either had to quit the cello or attend Yewon School because private lessons for cello were forbidden as well. -
Entering Seoul Arts High School
Seoul Arts High School After graduating from Yewon, Sung-Eun applied to the best arts high school in Korea. She successfully got accepted into the school and enjoyed a school life that was completely different from her middle school one. She became much more outgoing and loud which helped her make many new friends. -
Seoul National University
Seoul National University Sung-Eun graduated high school and decided to apply for the best university in Korea. It was extremely hard to get in but Sung-Eun practiced harder than ever. Seven final students were accepted into the school and out of the seven, Sung-Eun was first place. She had entered Seoul National University as the top cellist.
